The human body has the quality of being extremely flexible and tenacious. This makes it capable enough to recover from any adversities or major operations. However, it is important that individuals follow a particular recovery pattern or path in order to get the body on track within a short period of time. This rule is applicable for all surgeries including Gynecomastia. It is important that after undergoing the Gynecomastia surgery, the patient follows a specific regimen to regain the strength and shape of the body. Gynecomastia Surgery
Gynecomastia refers to excessive enlargement of male breasts and is a common disorder among males. Gynecomastia is a common phenomenon among boys in the puberty or teenage. It can also be observed especially among obese men as well as among those who are suffering from any major disease. However, Gynecomastia can be a temporary feature and is automatically eliminated after a few months. When Gynecomastia prolongs for an unusually long period of time and is not removed even after administering oral medicines then it requires elaborate surgery to be removed. The surgical process of removing enlarged male breasts includes liposuction as the mainstay. This surgery involves making an incision and removing all the fats and glandular tissues from the chest through the suction pipe of the Cannula, which is a major tool in operating Gynecomastia. This surgery is not very complex or extensive and the patient can recover from it completely within a few weeks. Immediately after the surgery the patient is taken to the recovery room to come out of the effect of the anesthesia and regain senses. Once the patient is taken home, he is advised to keep his head back and on a raised position in order to reduce the swelling in the chest area. It is important that the patients keep the dressing for a minimum of five to six days in order to reduce the swelling and let the skin recover from the wounds of the surgery. The dressing also protects the wound from all external pressures and helps in healing it faster. It is important for the patient to ensure that the wound is no longer tender and has healed to a great extent before he can get back to work. It is also advised that individuals avoid any strenuous activities or work-outs for a minimum of 3-4 weeks from the day of the surgery.
These simple steps would ensure that the wound is healed faster and the patients can get back to normalcy within a short span of time.
