The human body is prone to a large number of disorders that arise as a result of unhealthy condition of the body or malfunctioning of certain organs. One of the most important reasons for disorders is excessive quantities of fats or deposition of fats in specific body parts. One of the common disorders caused due to deposition of fats, especially among men is Gynecomastia. Gynecomastia refers to enlargement of the male breasts due to excessive deposition of fats. Extreme Gynecomastia is caused among very obese individuals or those suffering from other disorders.
Extreme Gynecomastia
Gynecomastia is common among men and is prevalent among 40 to 60% of the male population. This disorder affects boys in the age of puberty or during their adolescence or teens. However, in such cases the individual is relieved of Gynecomastia within a few months. It prolongs among those individuals who either suffer from other organ failures, drug abuse or obesity. In such cases the degree of Gynecomastia can intensify and can become extremely grave. Treating such Gynecomastia is not easy and requires strenuous exercises or even surgery. Cardio exercises or extensive weight training would lead to the elimination of Gynecomastia and restricting the growth of breasts among men. If Gynecomastia is still not cured then the final step is surgery to reduce the fat layers on the chest.
The surgical process for Gynecomastia begins by administering a dose of anesthesia in order to conduct the surgery without any pain to the individual. The surgical method comprises of a combination of liposuction and glandular excision. Apart from these techniques, yet another method of treating Gynecomastia by surgical method is ultrasonic liposuction that can remove thick layers of fats from the chest areas. During the surgery, once the anesthesia is administered, an incision of 3.0 cms is made at the periphery of the chest and then the process of liposuction is conducted. After the liposuction, the next step is to make an incision at the areola and again liposuction is conducted. Once the liposuction is performed, the incision is sealed with the help of dressing and fine sutures.
After the surgery, the patient must take ample rest for a minimum of three weeks. Once the dressing is removed the patient can undertake light exercises to strengthen the chest area. Once the breast-reduction surgery has been conducted, there will not be any development of Gynecomastia or swelling of breasts.
